Cake Bake and Sweets Show
If you’re a baker, decorator or just all-round foodie then this festival of sweetness is just for you. As Australia’s biggest event hosting everything from baked goods, latest cooking tools and interactive classes, it is a must see event if you have the slightest sweet tooth.
Craft and Quilt Fair
Now in its 23rd year, the Sydney Craft and Quilt Fair is any craft makers dream. With countless displays on show, the show will give attendees the chance to meet experts, participate in workshops and purchase the latest in supplies from card making, knitting, sewing, jewellery making and much more.
Documentary: Bringing The Light
Filmed over a four year period, this gripping documentary is one of courage and strength, showcasing the lives of Nepalese women and their journey for a better life for themselves, their family and other Nepalese women.
The film highlights the empowerment of women and the resilience they experience. All profits support spreading social development throughout Nepal.
200 years of Australian Fashion
The NGV once again will play host to another inspiring fashion exhibition, this time showcasing the talent of our own Australian designers. With over 120 works from more than ninety designers, the collection will feature displays from the likes of Dion Lee, Ellery, Romance Was Born and Toni Maticevski as well as historic pieces.
June in Perth is all about the festivals and one that shouldn’t be missed is the Festa Junina which literally translates to June Festival. In celebration of Brazilian culture, the festival will feature live bands, traditional Brazilian cuisine and dances as well as entertainment.
As the name suggests, this festival is all about black truffle, well almost. Although there is a big focus on truffle, the festival also is a celebration of a range of culutres and food that have helped produce the foods grown in the Souther Forests and to those that add to truffle.
Victoria has the Melbourne Cup but Queensland has Stradbroke Day, one of the most prestigious race days in Australia. The grand finale of the Channel Seven Brisbane Racing Carnival, Stradbroke day is an event on the racing calendar not to be missed.
Make it a day out with a group of friends with various packages on offer.
Winter Glass Market
As the name suggests, the Winter Glass Market is held to display and celebrate glass and glass-making. The day will also consist of market stalls and various other activities.
Canberra’s award winning Handmade Market is back in 2016 and is a great opportunity to see the talented artists, designers and craftspeople and their works. Over 220 Australian designer/makers will have their work displayed with all products available to purchase during the event.
Mclaren Vale Sea and Vines Festival
Not your average wine festival, the Mclaren Vale Sea and Vines festival is 4 days of celebration embracing the local wine making and culinary tradition with a beach lifestyle.
With various events on offer from wine tours to more intimate degustation dinners, this long running festival is one not to be missed.
