With over 20 years of travel experience Sally found herself unable find unique luxury boutique hotels while planning her own holiday. Alluxia travel website was created to share her passion for luxury holiday destinations for the stylish and time poor traveller.
Why did you start your business?
My real reason for starting the business was that when I was looking for special places to stay with family & friends how hard they were to find and how hard they were to book. I almost bought a holiday house on the Sunshine Coast, but then realised I’d be part of the problem of hard to find/hard to book and so became the solution by creating a website which unearthed hidden gems and supported small, independent businesses – highlighting these hidden gems while inspiring people to travel and discover these unique getaways through our destination features and carefully curated collections.
What does success mean to you?
Success is creating a brand guests love and trust, where Alluxia is their go-to-guide for unique holiday escapes. Work and life are so intertwined these days, that personally success is creating a lifestyle where all the hard work in creating the business is balanced by spending quality times with friends & family (often in luxurious locations!) and living a happy life.
Having left the corporate travel world, my style now is more smart casual. My clothes need to suit plenty of travel and meetings with clients usually in holiday destinations followed by sunset cocktails at the end of a busy day.
Living by my mantra of love what you do and be passionate about it. Hard work and determination will get you to your goals, but above all, do what makes you happy.
Fine wine and amazing dining are my weakness. Everywhere I travel, I seek out the best local cuisine and hidden gems so you can live like a local on your next holiday. Every destination has a special place for me.
